Planning for the 2018 LifeRing Annual Meeting has begun!

Save the weekend of June 2nd and 3rd 2018

Next year’s meeting will take place in beautiful Denver, Colorado, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains.  Presentations and brainstorming sessions will focus on the theme of Responsible Growth. The interest in choice in recovery is growing and LifeRing is receiving more requests for information and new meetings. We will explore questions about how to meet this need for more meetings and how to train new convenors.

The featured speaker for this year’s event will be Sarah Zemore PhD, Senior Scientist and Center Associate Director at the Alcohol Research Group in Emeryville, California. Sarah led the first scientific study about the efficacy of LifeRing, SMART and Women for Sobriety as compared to 12 step groups. http://arg.org/news/alternative-recovery-support-groups-provide-a-greater-sense-of-belonging/ She will be giving a full report of her study at our Annual Meeting.

This year, the Colorado community of LifeRingers is hoping to welcome as many out of state attendees as possible. To facilitate this, LifeRing will offer a limited number of scholarships for airfare for those who would not otherwise be able to attend. Many local LifeRingers will also open their homes to host out of town visitors.

Look for more information on the conference and ideas on how you can contribute to our success on Facebook, in the Lifering Blog, and on our websites.
