Two ways to find a meeting:
(1) View Meeting List as PDF file [Get Adobe Reader]
(2) Find Meeting on Map
Zoom and drag the map, or enter your city, zip code, or country, or use Search By City. Adjust radius as needed. Then click “Find Locations” button. Some locations have multiple meetings; check the list below the map, or check the PDF file (above).
None of the PDF links I tried on this or other pages are working.
Fixed now, as to this page. Many other pages also fixed. Still a few to do, but ran out of time. Should be all fixed by tomorrow or so. Thanks for the heads up!

I’m in Green Bay WI and I would like to communicate with some one from this area…I believe his name is Tom but that is all the information I have…can you help?

I’m a professional who sees a real need for LifeRing meetings as a resource in the Chicago area. Currently there are no meetings in Illinois. If anyone is considering becoming a convenor and starting a meeting, I will be glad to use my contacts in the EAP field (including treatment facilities and other providers, as well as EAP counselors) to spread the word, and assist in any other ways I can (helping them approach organizations for meeting space etc).

I called Tom in Green Bay WI to learn as much as I can about Lifering…the phone was disconnected. Do you have a meeting currently in Green Bay? I am inclined toward a rational/behavioral approach to most human challenges and I strongly believe that I am challenged every day as a result of my nurturing an addiction to alcohol for many years…I accept my urges as learned behavior. I have decided that I do not have to act on those urges other than to insert a modicum of rational thought between stimuli and behavior…sounds simple yet I find it a worthwhile challenge and feel great each morning after having acted rationally the previous day. That good feeling is the result of effort. Effort was not a part of my daily game plan when I was nurturing an egocentric philosophy of easy solutions and risk adversity which retarded my development as a human being. I understand my relapse potential. I would like to realize my potential. To do that I need the support of rational individuals who know the difference between grandiosity and heartfelt humility…thanx.
Peter: your post has been forwarded to the attention of the LifeRing folks who try to stay in touch with meeting convenors around the world. With luck you’ll have a response to your inquiry about Green Bay in a few days. — Marty N.
Peter,
While we wait for a response from Tom, I’d like to invite you to participate in our E-pal program, in which I can link you up with one of our members to give you some of the information you’re seeking. Just drop me a note at cswhalley@yahoo.com and I’ll put you in contact with a veteran member of the organization. — Craig W.
Peter,
I’ve heard from Tom — he moved and forgot to change the phone number on the website. Try him at (920) 737-1482. Good luck!

Elliot S. from Vermont sent this via email:
Hello
I’ve scanned your site looking for meetings in Vermont to no avail.
I wondered if you had some sort of message board or something whereby people can look for other people from their geographic region (as opposed to looking for meetings).
If you don’t have this I’d like to humbly suggest it. The on-line exchange is great and so (I presume) are large face-to-face meetings. But I know I could greatly benefit from meeting one or two folks within a few hours drive before our area gets more together and has formal meetings.
Obviously such a meet-up type thing would be completely optional.
Thanks
Elliot: Great idea; it’s been suggested several times and we’ve come within a hair of implementing it in the past. What it needs is a person with some online fluency and time and tenacity to implement it.
Meanwhile what people do is to sign on to the larger online venues — the LSRmail and LSRSAFE email lists, the ning network, and the Forum — and let the world know where they’re located and that they’d like to meet some folks in their area.

I’m with Donna! Actually, I live southeast of Lexington, about 2-3 hrs. from Louis ville but would have no problem with driving there for a chance to check this out! Like most, I’ve been through the AA channels, treatment and otherwise but always had a resistance to it and it wasn’t because I didn’t want to get sober. Nothing against those it helps and everything for them but was not for me. As they lead one to believe it is The only way to sobriety I just never could get behind that but now possibly, this seems like something that could work for me and my circumstance! So glad to find the “Empowering Your Sober Self ” in the bookstore and am more than ready for the workbook! Maybe some hope at last!???
I found your group through “Sober for Good” book. I was hoping to find out if you have groups in the Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, FL area. Any information would be greatly appreciated. 2 years self sober but am looking to attend meetings like yours to stay this way!
Thank You,
Carrie

This tells me that there is a meeting in Falmouth MA.
That’s all it tells me.
Should I go to Falmouth and walk around asking people?
Donald,
I think you’ll find a bit more information about the Falmouth meeting than you’ve mentioned, including the phone number and email address of the contact person, the name of the building and the street (although admittedly not the address) on which it is located. How about you direct an email to the contact person and ask for more information.
Dear Donald,
An exact address has been added for the Falmouth meeting as well. There was a glitch that has been fixed.
Best of luck to you,
The LifeRing Service Center
