Another new LifeRing meeting has begun in the Modesto/Turlock area. Beginning June 27th (but not on July 4th), there will be meetings Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Raley’s Community Event Center (next to the pharmacy) located at 2900 Geer Rd, Turlock, Ca 95382. LifeRing Reaches into Two New Irish Cities

LifeRing continues it’s growth in Ireland with two new meetings in the Cork area. Dublin and Belfast (in Northern Ireland) have well-established meetings. One new meeting is in Clonakilty, outside of Cork. It meets every Thursday at 8 p.m. at the The Grace Centre, South Square, Clonakilty. The other is in Cork itself on Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Friends Meeting House, Summerhill South, Cork City. For information, contact the convenor, Miriam C., at boozwatch@gmail.com. Bellingham, WA, Adds Fifth LifeRing Meeting

Max W., who has overseen rapid growth of LifeRing meetings in Bellingham, Washington, reports adding a fifth meeting there. LifeRing’s expansion in Bellingham, located north of Seattle and a bit south of Vancouver, Canada, is an excellent example of what can be accomplished by determination and perseverance. The new meeting is at 4 p.m. on Mondays at St. Joseph’s Hospital, South Campus, 809 E. Chestnut St., Bellingham, WA 98225. It will be in the small dining room on the ground floor. New LifeRing Meeting in Fremont, CA

LifeRing’s First Foreign Language Chat Meeting

LifeRing has added a Swedish language meeting to it’s Online Chat schedule. The meeting is on Sundays at 10 p.m., CET (Central European Time). The meeting will be convened by Lars B., who has been very successful in helping LifeRing get a firm footing in Sweden. The new meeting is another step forward.

Two New LifeRing Meetings in Sacramento

LifeRing continues to grow in Sacramento, CA! Mondo Bizarro Cafe will be the meeting place for two new meetings. It’s located at 1821 I Street, Midtown, Sacramento, Ca. The meetings will be on Thursdays at 5 p.m. and Saturdays at 1 p.m. There are currently 10 LifeRing meetings each week in Sacramento. Three of these meet at the Mondo Bizarro Cafe, until recently known as ‘Butch & Nellie’s’.

Two New Meetings Added in Victoria, Canada

The steadily increasing number of meetings in Victoria, B.C., Canada has grown by two. One is at the Saanich Neighbourhood Place, Pearkes Recreation Centre at Pearkes Arena, 3100 Tillicum Road. That meeting will be held on Fridays at 6:30 p.m., phone 250.415.5535 for details. There is also a meeting, closed to the general public, at a detox facility on Trent St. every Tuesday evenings at 8 p.m. This brings to eight the number of LifeRing meetings being offered in Victoria.

Concord, CA, gets Second LifeRing Meeting

A new LifeRing meeting has come to Concord, CA. Convened by Carola Z., a LifeRing Board member, the meeting will take place at New Connections, a treatment facility, at 2600 Stanwell Drive, Suite 220, Concord, CA 94520. The meeting, in Room 3, will be held on Tuesdays from noon to 1:30.

New LifeRing Meeting in Dublin, Ireland

The growing LifeRing presence in Dublin, Ireland, has increased with the start of a new meeting at the Blanchardstown library (Room 3) in the Roselawn Shopping Centre. The meeting will be held on Saturdays at 1 p.m., starting on March 5th. James M. will be the convenor. It’s the sixth LifeRing meeting in Dublin. Dennis S., who started and then led the LifeRing effort in Dublin for the past two years, is stepping down as the groups leader there. He writes:

Lifering Ireland has great news. A steering committee is now in place. It consists of 9 members with Maggie Ryan as the chairwoman This steering committee is in its infancy but is already tackling major issues such as convener training, expansion in Dublin and hopefully in the remainder of the country.

At the moment the email address (lifering.dublin.irl@gmail.com) is not functioning. This should be resolved by Google in the next few days.

My last official act has been to secure the site for our 6^th Dublin area meeting in the Blanchardstown library. It will commence on Saturday 5 March, 2011 at 1 pm in room 3. This room can only accommodate 15 people which is a great size for a Lifering meeting. However, the room limitation will be inhibiting as this meeting grows. Additional rooms may be available at summer’s start.

The Stanhope meeting will move to 3:30 start time from 2:30 beginning 2 March. Watch for new posters in the Dublin area soon. New meeting schedules will be printed to reflect our growth.

I will no longer be involved in the operation of Lifering Ireland. I am stepping aside so that a fresh team with fresh ideas can take charge of the organization. The last two years since I first decided we needed an alternative to 12 step programs in Ireland has been exciting. I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with many fine people both inside Lifering in Roi/NI and worldwide and in the recovery communities throughout the island.

Please give as much support to the fine members of the new committee. I have full faith that they will facilitate the expansion into new regions. One caution, these members are new at this. Time delays in responding to requests may occur as they willingly learn their new tasks.

Two New LifeRing Meetings in Denver Area

Two more meetings have been added to LifeRing’s presence in the Greater Denver, Colorado, area.

On Tuesdays, at 6:30 p.m., Lisa R. will convene a meeting at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral, room 202, at 1350 Washington St. in Denver. The contact phone number for the meeting is 303-586-1325 and information can also be found by sending an email to liferingcolorado@gmail.com

The second meeting will be in Aurora, just east of Denver, on Fridays at 6:00 p.m., two convenors will oversee the new group: Nancy S. and Mary Lee P. That meeting will be in the Fletcher Room at the Aurora Municipal Building, 15151 E. Alameda, in Aurora.
