Warm welcome for Craig W. to Bay Area

This homemade quiche with “WELCOME CRAIG” spelled out in a red pepper font symbolized the warm welcome local LifeRing participants extended Sunday evening to Craig Whalley, the new Executive Director of LifeRing, who has moved to Berkeley from Port Angeles WA. LifeRing participants from as far away as Sacramento took part. San Francisco LifeRing participant Shauna W. baked and decorated the quiche.

I want to thank all the people who came and brought tasty dishes and beverages for the potluck to welcome Craig, and especially those who helped distribute leftovers and clean up afterward. It was a pleasure to host the event and to touch base with old friends and new. – Marty N.

Hometown Paper Features New LifeRing CEO

The Peninsula Daily News in Washington State is running a feature story on Craig Whalley, the newly elected Executive Director of LifeRing. Craig recently sold the bookshop he bought 39 years ago in Port Angeles, and will be moving to Berkeley in a matter of days to concentrate on serving LifeRing. A new LifeRing meeting has started in Silverdale WA. It will meet on Fridays from 7:30 to 9 pm at the Cascade Recovery Center, see map. For further information contact Megan S.

Three meetings in Bellingham WA

There are now three LifeRing meetings in Bellingham, WA. All meet at the South Campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital, at 809 East Chestnut St. in the small dining room on the ground floor.

One group meets on Tuesdays at noon.

A second meets on Thursdays at 2 pm.

The third meets on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. Each meeting lasts about an hour. The site is wheelchair accessible.
