The 2014 LifeRing Annual Meeting and Congress is the one time of the year when LifeRingers from around the country and the world assemble to hear top-flight speakers, conduct LifeRing business and, most of all, to spend time with their peers in recovery.  It’s a not-to-be-missed chance to network and become a part of something that is working to offer hope and health to people around the world.

Santa Rosa is an easy day trip from the Bay Area. The Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport has limited flights available on Alaska Airlines if you wish to fly direct.  It is a destination city for tourism and lodging is plentiful. While here you can also visit nearby redwoods, the Russian River, the Sonoma coast, and there are extensive dining opportunities. Charles Schulz was a resident of Santa Rosa for his entire cartooning career, so there are numerous Peanuts, Snoopy, and Charlie Brown attractions. Lodging info to follow.

Lodging and Transportation

The most convenient lodging options by geography are the Hyatt, the Courtyard Marriott, and the La Rose hotels. If you intend to rent a car there are many, many more lodging options including the HiltonBest Western, the Flamingo, and all of the other major lodging chains.

Folks coming from the Bay Area can easily drive the 1 1/2 – 2 hours. Air transportation options are limited. The Charles Schulz-Sonoma County Airport only has one major carrier that you may be able to fly into Sonoma County. Alaska/Horizon is your only choice. If you choose to fly into Oakland or San Francisco your flight options are greatly increased. Transportation to Santa Rosa from SFO can be easily accommodated by rental car or Golden Gate Transit. Airport shuttles from SFO to Santa Rosa are another option. Transportation from OAK would almost certainly requires a rental car.

If the cost of lodging is a deterrent to your attendance, please contact liferingsr@gmail.com directly. The Santa Rosa LifeRing community may have the ability to provide lodging. We will do what we can.
