Giving Thanks and Giving Back:
A GivingTuesday Message

As we begin to celebrate the spirit of GivingTuesday, we pause to reflect on the transformative power of gratitude and generosity. For so many of us, LifeRing Secular Recovery has been a lifeline—a place where we have found strength, hope, and the priceless gift of recovery.

One of those individuals is Laura M. She is an in-person meeting convenor in the East Bay Area. Specifically, she convenes two meetings in Pleasant Hill and one in Walnut Creek, CA. Laura recently shared how LifeRing Secular Recovery has impacted her life.

Words of Wisdom from Laura's Lived Experience

I am personally grateful for the support and encouragement I’ve received from this community, and it brings me great joy to give back to the organization that continues to help me—and so many others—maintain our recovery journeys.

Today, I invite you to join me in giving thanks and giving back to LifeRing. There are many ways to express your gratitude and make a meaningful impact:.

  • Share your story: Write and submit part of your personal recovery story to inspire others on the LifeRing blog.
  • Volunteer your time: Become a Meeting Convenor and help shape the future of our community.
  • Lead with purpose: Explore leadership opportunities, such as serving with one of our work committees, to help guide our mission.

Another Way to Help

We know that not everyone can give their time right now—and that’s okay. If you’re unable to volunteer, please consider making a heartfelt donation of $5, $10, $20, or any amount that feels right to you. Every contribution, big or small, helps sustain our meetings, resources, and outreach efforts. Together, we can show our thanks for the gift of recovery and ensure that LifeRing remains a beacon of hope for all who seek it.

This GivingTuesday—December 2nd, let’s celebrate our recovery by giving back—
because when we lift each other, we all rise.
