GivingTuesday
Two Weeks 'til GivingTuesday!
December 2nd
GivingTuesday is a National Day of Giving that originated to gently influence people away from the culture of buying and acquiring stuff, toward a practice of sharing what we have with others.
The numbers from GivingTuesday 2024 tell a remarkable story: $3.6 billion donated in the United States alone—a 16% increase from 2023—with 36.1 million people participating in this global day of generosity.
Did you know?
GivingTuesday originated in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y, a cultural and community center in New York City, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. The idea was simple: create a day focused on giving back as a counterbalance to the shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
GivingTuesday encourages people and organizations to donate time,
resources, or money to causes they care about.
Considering everything going on in our world today, there are many worthy causes to support this GivingTuesday. Your choice to support any of them is honorable and appreciated. Our hope is that you’ll choose to include LifeRing Secular Recovery in your GivingTuesday or other year-end giving. Every single donation will be truly valued and used to support new recoveries from substance misuse.
Stay tuned between now and Tuesday, December 2nd for personal stories and updates about how your generous gifts help support the LifeRing Secular Recovery Community.
