LifeRing Outreach Committee

A Call to Action
COVID has transformed the recovery community with the unprecedented rise in alcohol abuse, substance abuse, and suicide. According to the CDC 93,000 individuals died from an overdose in 2020 alone. There has never been a more important time to raise the voice of the nonprofit, self-help recovery support group.
We need to get the LifeRing message out there that we are here for individuals who are still suffering from alcohol and substance use and let them know they do not have to bear the fight alone. We need to make our presence known to more treatment centers, IOP programs, and professionals in the recovery field.
For this reason, LifeRing founded a new volunteer committee – the Outreach Committee. But we need your help. We need volunteers who have fresh ideas and creative solutions to spread the LifeRing message.
If this committee sounds like a good addition to your recovery program or you have been thinking of ways to “pay it forward,” please join us. Meetings are held every other Tuesday at 2:00 pm (PST) and last approximately 90 minutes.
Our first meeting is Tuesday, October 19th at 2:00pm (PST). If you are interested, please email Michele Kenny at the LifeRing Outreach Committee. I hope to see you there!
I just celebrated my one-year anniversary as a LifeRing volunteer. I love the opportunity to dig in and get things done. LifeRing has so much potential just waiting for keen minds and kind hearts to harness. The feel-good returns are endless!
