Focus Meeting for Men in Recovery
![]() |
The Men's Group is LifeRing's newest How Was Your Week Focus meetings. It invites all those who define themselves as men to come and support each other in recovery To explore our unique weaknesses, and our unique strengths. To see sobriety through the lens of expectations that have been placed on us as fathers, sons, poets, warriors, husbands, businessmen, caregivers, athletes, etc.
Every age carries its challenges. And so does ours: what does it mean to be a man in the XXI century?
The time of fragile openness that our wrestling with dependence and sobriety affords us is an opportunity to bask in the light of our victories and to face our defeats and shadows.
I am sure all kinds of names come up when one hears the phrase "Men's Group": from Carl Jung to Larry Kramer; from John Wayne to John Waters; from Jordan Peterson to Robert Bly; from Patton to Stalin; from Michelangelo to Caligula, etc. ...
So which one, oh which - I hear you say - will you follow in your group, Rafal??
Probably none...
As I said: this is another of LifeRing's How Was Your Week groups. Its focus won't differ from that of the Liver Spot, LGBTQ+ or Co-Occurring. It will be the place to fight for the first "S", keep the second one in heart while supporting each other on the path of discovery our Sober ... Man.
