Celebrating Connection, Community, and Leadership:

Welcome Bobbi Campbell as LifeRing’s New Board Chair

We are thrilled to announce that Bobbi Campbell has raised her hand to serve as the new Chair of the LifeRing Board of Directors!

Bobbi’s connection to LifeRing runs deep, serving as a cornerstone of her recovery journey since November 2007. Her path with LifeRing is deeply personal — she even met her husband and fellow "LifeRinger," Richard, through the LSRsafe email discussion group. Alongside the LifeRing Delphi Forum and the LSR Women’s Empowered email discussion group, Bobbi credits these online communities as her primary sources of ongoing recovery support.

A retired Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) and dedicated community volunteer residing in the Los Angeles area, Bobbi has consistently given back to the organization that supported her. Her history of service to LifeRing spans multiple vital roles:

  • Board Leadership: Appointed to the Board of Directors in December 2022, Bobbi was officially elected in 2023, reelected in 2025, and now steps into her new role as Board Chair. Her current term on the Board of Directors runs through 2028.
  • Committee Work & Recognition: She serves on the Fundraising, Marketing, and Communication Committee and previously managed LifeRing’s social media. In 2024, Bobbi was honored as an Emily Marcus Award winner, receiving the Outstanding Expansion Award for her outstanding work resuscitating LifeRing’s social media. This award recognizes the person who made the greatest contributions to LifeRing team collaboration and outside organizations.
  • Community Outreach: A familiar voice to many, Bobbi has written for the LifeRing blog and continues to assist with managing LifeRing’s social media pages — a role she is ready to pass along to anyone interested in stepping up!

When she isn't devoting her time to supporting secular recovery, Bobbi enjoys writing and paper crafting, humorously noting that she "still doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up."

Bobbi’s passion for ensuring others find a robust, secular path to recovery makes her uniquely suited to lead our governing body. Please join us in congratulating Bobbi Campbell as she steps into her role as Board Chair to help LifeRing continue to grow and thrive!
