Pix, Report from Pride Event

From Lauretta M., who spearheaded the LifeRing presence at the Pride event in San Francisco June 27 (see advance post here):

Thanks all, I have been so busy I haven’t had a chance to properly thank people that helped. Wesley helped  set up. Njon, Rand, Mary hung out with me.  Lynn, and Ernie helped wrap out.
Marty and my friend Eva gave me graphics help. Robert  expedited paperwork.
Thanks everyone! I would say it was a success. It wouldn’t have happened without you all.
People came by in fairly steady intervals. We estimated people stopped every 7-8 minutes or so. This included people from other programs, counselors, and the curious, and clearly some folks in the contemplative phase.
My favorite thing was to see people staring at the banner from about 20ft away. Some eventually sidled up for a brochure. Seeds of sobriety were planted.
Happy to hear about our new Sacramento friend. I remember talking to him. He talked of his frustration with another program and was so happy to see us. He said, “No prayers, right?!…okay!”
We didn’t have to do any selling of our organization. We tended to let people have the room to just ask, and found that to be the best thing.

Wow, Edward. That really sounds sarcastic. Was that your intention or am I just crazy?

Thank you very much for posting such beautiful pictures from the San Francisco Pride Festival on such a prominent place on the Lifering homepage. And what better way to underscore the integrity and credibility of Lifering as a serious international organization whose primary mission is to offer the desperate and despondent addict scientifically oriented support for a sober live style.
