Polish-speakers Co-Occurring Disorders Meeting

Mówisz po polsku? My też!
LifeRing is proud to introduce our first Polish-speakers Co-Occurring Disorders Meeting on Wednesdays at 10:00am Pacific Time beginning April 27th. Please join us in welcoming our Polish-speaking LifeRing community!
This will be the third LifeRing focus meeting for people in recovery also diagnosed with co-occurring disorders. Rafal opened or is now convening these meetings since he joined LifeRing in September 2021. His goal for the Polish-speakers meeting is to introduce LifeRing into a country where the majority of recovery meetings are run by traditional 12-step programs.
Rafal comes from Poland where he received his B.A. equivalent in acting from the famed Polish Film, Television and Theater Academy. In 1997 he also received an M.F.A. from UCLA. Since 1981 he has acted in multiple productions, and directed well over 20 plays, musicals, operas and theatrical installations.
After 14 years of using, and multiple attempts to recover from his opioid addiction, he was able to stop and has been sober since his birthday on January 7, 2017. Rafal was diagnosed with multiple mood and learning disorders following a mental breakdown that same year -- Disorders he has been living with since childhood. Having to leave his beloved theater behind, due to the diagnosis, Rafal found purpose in life in helping others on their mental health and substance misuse recovery paths.
Rafal is a bachelor, and has two sons and two cats. One of whom is a published author courageously living with schizophrenia. The other one is a bum who is studying Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Oregon. Those are the sons, not the cats. But the cats are also very "productive".
Rafal has a quirky sense of humor, (see above) and listens (too loud) to a lot of music. LifeRing is lucky to have Rafal as part of our LifeRing Convenors Community!
