LifeRing is proud to introduce Inda Lopez, our newest online meeting convenor.  Inda will be convening two groundbreaking recovery meetings specially designed for people in recovery who are also navigating the intricate world of the Child Protective Services (CPS) system. We understand this journey is filled with unique challenges. The new CPS: Recovery + Reunification meetings offer support, understanding, and a safe space for healing.

About Me

My name is Inda Lopez. I was born in Nayarit, Mexico. Raised in California since I was 3 years old. I'm fluent in Spanish. I love to draw and paint. It's one of my many hobbies.

I found out about LifeRing through my Stars Program IOP. They gave me that link to have 6 meeting verifications every 2 weeks. Either that or go into in-person AA meetings. I do both but I prefer LifeRing.

My goal for this meeting is to give parents with CPS cases ... hope and friendship
so they can stay sober and learn how to help themselves

I started joining life Ring since i started my IOP in April 12th and been coming into different meetings ever since I've been clean and sober since April 8th 2023 and have not relapsed. I'm planning to keep it that way until the day I die.

My Motivation for These Meetings

The inspiration came from my personal case I have with CPS, Its my 1st case where they have given me a choice to either give my kids up for adoption or commit to being clean and joining the Stars Program. A Lot of people in my groups have to do meeting verifications and so they join LifeRing, many of us share our experiences with CPS but there are more people in other meetings who can't relate, I'm always crosstalking with those group of people so I figured it would be nice to have a room for them to talk about their journey in recovery while dealing with a CPS case.

My goal for this meeting is to give parents with CPS cases or even just parents with an addiction hope and friendship that they can stay sober and learn how to help themselves and get knowledge on how to stay sober during a tough time that is a CPS case. In the beginning of my case i was having a tough time getting along with my social worker and my recovery specialist but now we have a close relationship and they are proud of how I'm doing in my recovery. I'm hoping other parents experience the same as me.
