Since our first co-occurring disorders focus meeting on Wednesday, August 23, 2021 — LifeRing has added four new co-occurring disorders meetings throughout the week including one for Polish-speakers diagnosed with co-occurring disorders. LifeRing is proud to introduce our first Co-occurring Disorders specialty meeting. Pioneer Michele K. convenes this new LifeRing meeting about co-occurring disorders that includes alcohol and other substance disorders and mental and emotional health issues. These specialty meetings are held on Wednesdays at 12:00 pm PST.
Michele has been a LifeRing member via Zoom for well over a year. She has been sober since June, 2019. She serves as a convener for the Tuesday 9:00 a.m. topic meeting as well as serving on the Meeting and Convener’s Committee, and the Outreach Committee. She became a member of the LifeRing board this summer.
In addition to her volunteer work with LifeRing, Michele was certified as a Peer Recovery Supporter by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services and is a member of the Central Ohio Rescue and Restore Coalition, an organization with a focus on fighting human trafficking.
